Dr Simon Gordon Class Action Investigation

Margalit Injury Lawyers is investigating potential legal claims arising from gynaecological treatment provided by Dr Simon Gordon for endometriosis and pelvic pain, including treatment provided at Epworth HealthCare and his private clinic, Endo Health.

You may have recently started questioning treatment or surgery you received from Dr Simon Gordon.

You might be reviewing old medical records, reconsidering what you were told at the time, or simply wondering whether the treatment you received was appropriate.

You do not need to know whether something went wrong. You do not need to have all your medical records. And you do not need to know whether you have a legal claim before speaking with us.

Our team can listen to what happened, help you understand what information may be relevant and explain your options.

You may want to speak with us if

you received treatment from Dr Simon Gordon and:

  • underwent surgery for endometriosis or pelvic pain;
  • were told that your endometriosis was severe or required surgical treatment;
  • underwent multiple or repeat procedures;
  • experienced unexpected complications or continuing pain following treatment;
  • developed new symptoms or changes to your health after surgery;
  • have concerns about the impact of treatment on your fertility or reproductive health;
  • have since questioned whether a procedure was necessary or appropriate;
  • were not clearly informed about the risks of surgery or the alternatives available to you;
  • are concerned that you did not have enough information to provide properly informed consent;
  • have noticed differences between what you remember being told and what appears in your medical records;
  • or simply feel uncertain about the care you received and would like someone to help you understand what happened.

Every person’s treatment and circumstances are different. Having one or more of these concerns does not necessarily mean that medical negligence occurred or that you have a legal claim. It does however mean that it may be worth getting independent advice.

Margalit Lawyers can help you understand your experience in a free, no-obligation appointment.

SPEAK DIRECTLY TO A LAWYER

What is being investigated?

In February 2026, ABC Four Corners reported allegations concerning gynaecological treatment and surgeries performed by Dr Simon Gordon on patients being treated for endometriosis and pelvic pain.

The reporting raised questions about the diagnosis and severity of endometriosis in some patients, whether certain surgical procedures were clinically necessary, and whether some patients received appropriate information about their treatment.

Dr Gordon surrendered his medical registration in February 2026 while under investigation by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). The regulatory investigation remains separate from any civil legal claim. No findings have been made against Dr Gordon, and the allegations reported publicly have not been proven.

Margalit Injury Lawyers is independently investigating whether former patients may have viable legal claims and whether the circumstances of affected patients are sufficiently similar for a class action or other group proceeding to be appropriate.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who can and should contact Margalit Lawyers?

If you were treated by Dr Simon Gordon and have concerns about the treatment you received, we encourage you to contact our team.

Our investigation includes, but is not limited to, treatment provided through: Epworth HealthCare, including Epworth facilities in Melbourne, Eastern Health, Mercy Healthcare and Endo Health, Dr Gordon’s private clinic.

You can contact us even if:

  • your treatment happened many years ago;
  • you cannot remember every procedure or date;
  • you do not currently have your medical records;
  • you are unsure what your pathology results showed;
  • you have not spoken to another doctor about your concerns; or
  • you do not know whether you have a legal claim.

You can start by simply telling us what you remember and where you were treated.

Why are you asking former patients to come forward?

Understanding the experiences of former patients is an important part of determining whether there are common issues that may support a class action.

One person’s experience cannot tell the whole story.

Hearing from different patients helps our team understand: whether similar concerns arose across multiple patients; whether there are common issues involving diagnosis, treatment, consent or surgical outcomes; the nature and extent of any harm experienced; and whether pursuing claims collectively may be appropriate.

Even if you are unsure whether your experience is relevant, you are welcome to contact us.

Is there already a class action?

No.

Margalit Injury Lawyers is currently investigating potential claims arising from treatment provided by Dr Simon Gordon. No decision has yet been made about whether a class action or other group proceeding will be commenced.

Some patients’ circumstances may ultimately be more appropriate for individual claims. Others may share common issues capable of being pursued collectively. That is one of the questions our investigation is seeking to answer.

Registering your details does not commit you to participating in any future legal action.

What does registering my details do?

Registering your details does not commit you to legal action.

Registration helps our legal team understand your experience and assess the broader circumstances affecting former patients. It also allows us to contact you with relevant information as our investigation progresses.

There is no cost to register.

Registering does not mean you have started a legal claim, engaged us to act for you or agreed to participate in any future class action. You remain in control of what happens next. Information you provide to Margalit Injury Lawyers will be treated confidentially and handled in accordance with our privacy obligations.

Has Dr Simon Gordon been found guilty of wrongdoing?

No. At this stage, no findings have been made against Dr Simon Gordon. The matters are currently the subject of regulatory investigation.

This page does not assert that any allegations have been proven.

An AHPRA investigation is separate from a civil medical negligence claim. Independent legal advice is required to assess whether a patient may have a viable claim.

• You experienced complications after surgery

• You underwent multiple procedures

• You were not informed of non-surgical alternatives

A proper assessment requires review of your medical records and independent expert opinion. Margalit Lawyers can help you request the documentation and provide free initial advice.
