Thomas McCredie

Thomas is a Principal in the Class Actions team at Margalit Injury Lawyers, bringing more than 12 years of experience in legal practice and extensive experience managing significant litigation and personal injury matters.

Throughout his career, Thomas has acted across a broad range of personal injury claims, with particular experience in institutional abuse matters. He has represented clients in difficult proceedings involving a range of institutions and government bodies and has appeared before Victorian courts and tribunals in contested matters.

Thomas takes a considered and strategic approach to litigation. He places particular importance on understanding what matters to each client, providing clear advice and building strong relationships throughout what can often be a lengthy and difficult legal process.

Before joining Margalit Injury Lawyers, Thomas spent more than six years as a Partner at a Melbourne law firm, where he co-led a legal team, managed complex litigation and mentored lawyers and support staff. Earlier in his career, he gained experience in commercial litigation, employment law and corporate transactions, including working with international law firms in London.

Thomas holds a Juris Doctor with Distinction from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science and Philosophy, from the University of Melbourne. He was admitted to legal practice in Victoria in 2014.

Thomas has a longstanding commitment to mentoring and community legal work. He has previously volunteered as a lawyer with the HIV/AIDS Legal Centre. He mentors law students through RMIT University’s Career Mentorship Program and is secretary of the Committee of Management at a Kindergarten.

Outside of work, Thomas enjoys reading, surfing, gardening and hiking. He is also an endurance runner and has completed the Melbourne and Athens Marathons.

Thomas is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria.
